Job summary
St Luke's Surgery is looking to recruit a Salaried GP to join our practice for 3 sessions a week. These will include clinical appointments and admin time.
St Luke's Surgery, is situated in Pinfold Health Centre, Bloxwich.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Undertake face-to-face, telephone, video, and home visit consultations as appropriate.
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
- Prescribe medicines and treatment in accordance with local and national guidelines.
- Request, interpret, and act upon laboratory tests, imaging, and specialist reports.
- Make appropriate referrals to secondary care, community services, and other agencies.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous, and comprehensive medical records.
- Provide health promotion and preventative care advice.
- Participate in care planning for patients with complex needs.
- Manage safeguarding concerns in line with local and national procedures.
- Support the delivery of vaccination and screening programmes where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
The post holder will:
- Provide comprehensive general medical services to registered patients.
- Undertake face-to-face, telephone and online consultations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with local and national guidance.
- Manage patients with complex needs, including frailty, long-term conditions and end-of-life care.
- Carry out home visits where clinically appropriate.
- Interpret and act upon laboratory results, investigations and clinical correspondence.
- Assess, diagnose and refer patients to secondary care and community services as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and complete patient records using the practice clinical system.
- Complete associated administration in a timely manner.
Clinical Governance and Quality
The post holder will:
- Work in accordance with GMC guidance and Good Medical Practice.
- Participate in clinical governance activities, audits, significant event reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), Enhanced Services and other contractual requirements.
- Contribute to safeguarding processes for children and vulnerable adults.
- Participate in infection prevention and control activities.
- Promote patient safety and risk management within the practice.
Multidisciplinary Team Working
The post holder will:
- Work collaboratively with Practice Nurses, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Pharmacists, Social Prescribers and other members of the team.
- Contribute positively to team development and service improvement.

Our clinical team consists of Doctors, Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Phlebotomist, Social Prescribers and Pharmacists. We have just over 5000 registered patients.
