s the Clinical Lead you will need to: Clinical Leadership & Practice Standards Provide expert professional and clinical leadership to Orthopaedic theatre teams Act as the specialist lead for orthopaedic surgical procedures and theatre workfl ows Set, monitor, and maintain high standards of perioperative care in line with national guidance, Trust policies, and SOPs Demonstrate visible leadership, promoting professionalism, accountability, and a culture of safety Governance, Quality & Patient Safety Lead clinical governance within orthopaedic theatres Ensure compliance with WHO surgical safety standards, infection prevention, implant traceability, and documentation Lead investigations into incidents, complications, and near misses, ensuring timely reporting and learning Embed learning from audits, incidents, and GIRFT recommendations into clinical practice Insuring NGR compliance and submissions. Service Delivery & Operational Oversight Work collaboratively with theatre management to optimise list utilisation, improve patient flow, and reduce cancellations Contribute to capacity planning, service resilience, and business continuity Support delivery of elective and trauma activity in line with performance targets Line Management & Workforce Leadership Act as line manager for designated Orthopaedic theatre staff Lead appraisals, performance management, and professional development planning

As a Orthopaedic and spinal clinical lead at our Manor Hospital, you're registered with the appropriate governing body and you have the relevant qualifications and experience. As the Clinical Lead you will need to: Clinical Leadership & Practice Standards

  • Provide expert professional and clinical leadership to Orthopaedic theatre teams
  • Act as the specialist lead for orthopaedic surgical procedures and theatre workfl ows
  • Set, monitor, and maintain high standards of perioperative care in line with national guidance, Trust policies, and SOPs
  • Demonstrate visible leadership, promoting professionalism, accountability, and a culture of safety

Governance, Quality & Patient Safety

  • Lead clinical governance within orthopaedic theatres
  • Ensure compliance with WHO surgical safety standards, infection prevention, implant traceability, and documentation
  • Lead investigations into incidents, complications, and near misses, ensuring timely reporting and learning
  • Embed learning from audits, incidents, and GIRFT recommendations into clinical practice

Line Management & Workforce Leadership

  • Act as line manager for designated Orthopaedic theatre staff
  • Lead appraisals, performance management, and professional development planning
  • Manage sickness absence and promote staff wellbeing, engagement, and retention
  • Support workforce planning, safe staffing levels, and appropriate skill mix

Education, Training & Competency Management

  • Ensure all staff are appropriately trained, competent, and compliant within orthopaedic practice
  • Oversee induction, competency assessment, and ongoing professional development
