Staff Nurse – Surgical HDU

Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone

Hours: Bank (Zero Hours)

Shifts: Days, Nights and Weekends

Hourly Rate: £26.00 per hour (plus holiday pay)

As an HDU Staff Nurse at KIMS Hospital, you’ll work alongside our dedicated Ward Manager to provide exceptional care to surgical patients requiring Level 2 High Dependency Care, enhanced step-down care, and post-operative surgical care along elective pathways.

Main duties of the job

As a Surgical Critical Care Nurse, you will:

  • Assess, plan and deliver care, based on individual patient needs in conjunction with the Multi-disciplinary Team.
  • Demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and be accountable for own actions.
  • Work within a team, supervising and directing junior staff and deputising for Senior Staff as required.
  • Participate in the training and development of staff to care for levels2 patients in the High dependency beds in the ward.
  • Ensure that own professional development is maintained and enhanced by engaging in external support from the Kent Critical Care network and surrounding NHS Trust.
