Are you a qualified LARC Long-Acting Reversible Contraception Nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care? We're currently seeking a skilled Locum LARC Nurse to join a supportive and dynamic team in East London.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Accredited LARC training (coil and implant fitting/removal)
  • Proven experience in sexual and reproductive health services
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Main duties of the job

  • Provide comprehensive counselling on contraceptive options, with an emphasis on LARC methods including intrauterine devices (IUDs) and contraceptive implants.
  • Assess patient medical history and eligibility for LARC methods.
  • Perform insertions and removals of LARC devices, adhering to clinical protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor for complications or side effects and provide appropriate follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives related to reproductive health services.

  • Required:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license [State-specific]
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Proven clinical experience in womens health, family planning, or reproductive healthcare
  • Competency in LARC insertion and removal procedures or willingness to be trained
  • Preferred:
  • BSN or higher nursing degree
  • Certification in reproductive health or family planning (e.g., from AWHONN or NCC)
  • Experience working in community health, family planning clinics, or OB-GYN settings
