Job summary
The post holder will ensure Process, Governance, Rigour and Compliance are regulated for the Group delivery of projects of between £30-£50 million annually. They will ensure that all reporting from the delivery teams is accurate and up to date. To own the Group Project Tracker, and keep updated after every PMO project review meeting, ensuring Programme and budget information is accurate. Work with the Trust Financial Accountants, Information and Finance team to align month end figures. To report to the Group PMO CPD on all matters relating to the project delivery and to provide early warnings of any potential slippage or issues which need escalating. To ensure the delivery teams maintain the integrity and coherence of the project delivery-related standards, ensure these are met and maintain records for quality, governance and process compliance.
Main duties of the job
To manage the PMO team in relation to all Group construction and other related projects, specialising in Building Surveying, design and project management. To successfully govern a variety of Capital Projects Reporting, Budget and Programme as when requested, ensuring the annual capital budget is robust and managed with rigor, up to £50m annually. Oversee the quality of all reporting to the PMO, to manage all documentation relating to Gateway controls, ensuring that standards of reporting and documentation are satisfactory and ensure a single standard across the group is maintained. To own the Group Capital Tracker and be responsible for it being accurate and updated for month end closure.
Job description
To advise and guide the Deputy Group Directors, Head of Capital and other members of the Project Team in the management of capital projects within the estate and to provide guidance on the most practical and economic solutions for the project, procurement, construction, management, commissioning and maintenance of the development. Ensure that the Group Director has the right information and knowledge at the right time to exercise authority properly.
To be responsible for the development of Group Capital Project policies, through annual lessons learned meetings within the PMO group and other external policy introductions such as the BSA and make all necessary adjustments to the processes required to continue successfully delivering Capital Projects and the procurement of large-scale work programmes.
At Gateway sign off stages, review and approve information, produce and publish budget statements, outline cost plans, detailed cost plans, cost checks and cost analysis statements to act as key control documents to provide rigor to the project and PMO to allow for approval to be given to the next stage. Ensure that the targets are checked and adjustments are made in order to demonstrate that the project is managed within budget.
