Job summary
Please note that we are recruiting for two full-time equivalent Life Sciences Hub Engagement and Delivery Leads.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and play a key part of a dynamic programme at a pan-London footprint. The Life Sciences Hub Engagement and delivery Lead will support the Life Sciences Hub Manager to work with the Greater London Authority (GLA) and connecting life science employers, educators, healthcare organisations and innovation partners. Together, we are helping to turn the sector's workforce priorities into practical action and creating clearer pathways into high-quality careers for Londoners. They will play a key role in a dynamic team of three to work collaboratively with life science clusters across London, such as Paddington Life Sciences, to deliver a programme that strengthens talent pipelines at scale and supports the continued success of this vital sector.
The Inclusive Talent Strategy is a vital early step in delivering the London Growth Plan. It aims to ensure that all Londoners can benefit from growth by building a skilled workforce and helping more people access high-quality jobs, while making it easier for employers to find the talent they need. This will involve working in partnership with employers, skills and employment providers, and government to make the system more responsive to London's economic needs, and make it easier for businesses to find talent.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be support the Life Sciences Hub Manager to successfully deliver the Greater London Authority (GLA) Life Science Sector Talent Board and Hub as part of the Inclusive Talent Strategy. The key accountability areas for this post are:
o To support the overseeing of the secretariat function for the Life Sciences Talent Board, Hub and Working Groups, including setting priorities and overseeing delivery of pilots through workstreams
o To maintain and co-ordinate employer, skills/education provider and community engagement through Hub activities at pan-London and sub-regional levels
o To ensure the Life Sciences Talent Hub acts as a single entry point for employers into the skills system, with clear communication and opportunities for liaison such
o To delivery pan-London awareness-raising events and campaigns, both through schools and with employment-age residents
o To link with and maintain existing networks to develop a clear picture of employer skills gaps in life sciences
o To oversee a comms & engagement workstream that raises awareness of the sector
