Clinical Nurse Specialist - Paediatric Respiratory / LTVNHS
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Children's Nurse to join the Paediatric Respiratory & Long-Term Ventilation Team at St Mary's Hospital as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist.
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate nurse with experience in paediatric respiratory care, complex care, HDU/PICU or long-term ventilation. You will manage a specialist caseload, provide expert clinical advice, support children and families across their care pathway, and work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues across North West London.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills, a commitment to family-centred care, and a passion for service improvement, education and clinical excellence.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop specialist expertise within a well-established service while helping to shape and enhance respiratory care for children and young people across West London Children's Healthcare.
Main duties of the job
- Manage a specialist caseload of children and young people with respiratory conditions and long-term ventilation (LTV) needs.
- Provide expert clinical assessment, advice and support to children, young people and their families.
- Work closely with consultants, allied health professionals, community teams and other multidisciplinary colleagues to coordinate care.
- Lead on patient and family education, promoting self-management and supporting transition to adult services where appropriate.
- Provide specialist advice, education and training to nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support the development and delivery of high-quality, evidence-based respiratory and long-term ventilation services.
- Contribute to service improvement, clinical audit, research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop strong partnerships across hospital, community and primary care services to ensure seamless care for children and young people.
