Job summary
Neston Medical Centre is seeking a motivated, adaptable and proactive GP to join our forward thinking, well-established team for up to 8 sessions per week. Main duties of the job
- Provide comprehensive general medical services to patients registered with the Practice.
- Undertake face-to-face and telephone consultations.
- Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribe medication safely and appropriately in accordance with current legislation and local prescribing guidance.
- Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services.
- Request, interpret and act upon investigations.
- Provide home visits where clinically appropriate.
- Participate in the management of patients with long-term conditions.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous electronic clinical records using the Practice clinical system.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up of investigations, referrals and correspondence.
- Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement activities.
- Participate in significant event reviews and clinical meetings.
- Report incidents, complaints and safety concerns in accordance with Practice policy.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention and control procedures.

Multidisciplinary Working
- Work closely with Practice Nurses, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, and administrative staff.
- Liaise effectively with secondary care clinicians, community teams and other healthcare professionals.
- Support integrated patient care across organisational boundaries.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Process pathology results, clinical correspondence and electronic documents within agreed timescales.
About us
We currently care for approximately 7700 patients with a higher than average elderly population. Our dynamic team includes 7 GPs, 3 ACPs, 4 Practice Nurses and 1 HCA. We also benefit from the support of the additional roles team within Neston & Willaston PCN, which includes services such as an acute paramedic visiting service, a clinical pharmacy team and physiotherapy support.
