This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious and innovative Occupational Therapist to join us as an AHP Clinical Lead (Band 8a) in a newly funded permanent role. Created through innovation investment, this post will strengthen Allied Health Professional leadership, support integrated neighbourhood working, and help shape the future of Community Therapy Services and wider AHP services across Oxfordshire.

This role offers the opportunity to drive clinical excellence, lead service transformation, and work collaboratively across health and social care to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. While the post will support AHP teams across the Community Directorate, its primary focus will be the Community Therapy Service.

Community services play a vital role in helping people remain independent, avoid unnecessary hospital admissions, and return home safely following illness or injury.

As the AHP Clinical Lead, you will work closely with Community Therapy teams, operational leaders, professional leads, fellow AHP Clinical Leads, and system partners to ensure services are integrated, resources are used effectively, and patients receive the right care, at the right time, in the right place.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will mainly work in the Locality Therapy and Nursing pathway contributing to the strategic planning and delivery of therapy services, ensure effective multidisciplinary working and use of best practice and national and clinical legislation to deliver evidence based quality assessment and treatment. We will expect you to be able to provide clear clinical leadership and oversight of the professional support and development of AHP staff, together with the equitable allocation of resources across multiple sites This will include advising on the implications of service change impacting on the developing of neighbourhoods and additional changes within the service development within the clinical area. Contribute to policy development and the achievement of the Directorates overall objectives and Trust strategy and manage a small clinical case load if required.
