Main duties of the job

We are on the lookout for a reliable, passionate and organised individual to join our team as a kitchen assistant. Requirements include a right-to-work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months and previous kitchen experience. This role offers two part-time opportunities: 16 hours/week or 24 hours/week, both including alternative weekends. Your duties will include supporting the chef, maintaining kitchen hygiene (in line with COSHH regulations), managing time effectively, and engaging with residents. A caring, self-motivated attitude, empathy, and knowledge of food safety are necessary.

What is required from you?

• A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK

• Previous experience in a kitchen setting is essential

A day in the life of a Kitchen Assistant

• Support the chef to create healthy/balanced meals and snacks, and ensuring a goodunderstanding of various dietary requirements and allergens
• Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen area, with good levels of hygiene particularly in line with COSHH regulations and health and safety protocols.
• Work as a team player, but have the ability to lone work when needed, effectively managing your time.
• Offersupport, communication and engagement to the residents.

About You

You don't have to have worked in care before, a previous role in a different catering environment is great for someone willing to learn. We'd like you to have some prior knowledge of food safety and COSHH. You will be a caring, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to show empathy to the needs of others.
