At Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre, we provide expert care for individuals with acquired and traumatic brain injury, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 5 equivalent Occupational Therapist, you will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team (MDT), delivering high-quality assessments and interventions for patients with complex rehabilitation needs. You will gain valuable experience in specialist neurorehabilitation, develop your clinical skills, and play an active role in guiding patients through their rehabilitation journey, including discharge planning and community reintegration.

Job description

What you'll be working:

Our standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, we understand the importance of a positive work-life balance, and therefore, if you require some flexibility to better suit your personal or professional needs, we encourage you to discuss this with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences where possible.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assess and treat patients with complex rehabilitation needs, supporting their recovery journey.
  • Develop comprehensive discharge plans, liaising with community services to ensure continuity of care.
  • Work collaboratively as part of an MDT, including physiotherapists, neuropsychologists, speech and language therapists, and social workers.
  • Contribute to service development, audits, and training, ensuring high-quality and innovative rehabilitation approaches.
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and engage in reflective practice to enhance your professional growth.
  • Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights.
