Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive general anaesthetic service and contribute to the ongoing development of anaesthetic services across the Trust.You will:- Deliver high-quality elective and emergency anaesthetic care- Participate in the consultant on-call rota- Support teaching and supervision of trainees and medical students- Contribute to clinical governance, audit and quality improvement activities- Participate in departmental research programmes- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams- Provide leadership and support service development initiatives- The post offers flexibility to support candidates wishing to develop subspecialty interests including perioperative medicine, paediatric anaesthesia, obstetric anaesthesia and other specialist areas.

- 12-theatre Croydon Elective Centre- Emergency Surgical Centre- Busy maternity unit with approximately 3,000 births annually- Paediatric surgical services- Intensive Care Unit- Surgical Enhanced Care Unit (SECU)- Interventional Radiology- Endoscopy and other remote anaesthetic locations
