Job summary

Come and join one of the UKs largest independent providers in neuro and mental healthcare. We proudly employ over 4000+ people - no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone.

Therapists at Active Neuro dont just set goals they change lives.

At Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, we support adults with acquired or traumatic brain injuries, neurological conditions, and complex needs. From NHS referrals to private and medicolegal clients, our work isn't limited by a 12-week window. That means our therapists can set meaningful, long-term, person-centred goals whether that's bowling with family, baking again, returning to art, or gardening independently.

We are now looking for a passionate and empathetic Occupational Therapist to join this outstanding multidisciplinary team on a fixed-term, 12-month contract, helping to deliver life-changing rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job

Why join Active Neuro?

At Hothfield, therapy is creative, collaborative, and impactful. Our therapists have the opportunity to work with a varied and complex caseload including neurological conditions, polytrauma, amputations and catastrophic injuries.

You'll also benefit from:

  • The opportunity to deliver meaningful, long-term rehabilitation, not limited to short discharge timelines
  • Access to innovative rehabilitation technology such as Luna, Exo Motus and Arm Motus
  • Working within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, psychologists and speech and language therapists
  • Opportunities to contribute to service development and innovation
  • Access to cross-service collaboration within the Active Neuro network
  • A strong professional community and peer support across our therapy teams
  • Personalised CPD investment, including functional upper and lower limb rehabilitation, cognitive and perceptual retraining, ADL recovery, splinting, adaptive equipment, environmental modifications and neuropsychologically-informed interventions
  • Opportunities to attend professional conferences and external networking events with organisations such as Headway and the Spinal Injuries Association

If you're a therapist who values autonomy, creativity and the chance to truly change lives, we would love to hear from you.

Job description

The Role:

As part of our transition to Active Neuro, the therapy service is evolving into a seven-day model of care to better support the rehabilitation needs of our clients. As a result, occasional pre-arranged weekend working will be required. You will also be expected to work Bank Holidays as required by the service, with enhanced pay provided in line with company policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions for individuals with neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries, demonstrating advanced clinical reasoning
  • Develop and implement person-centred therapy plans that support recovery of functional independence, daily living skills, and meaningful activities
  • Use creativity and innovation to deliver engaging therapy programmes tailored to each patients interests, goals, and needs
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic rehabilitation and contribute to team decision-making
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior staff and students, sharing expertise and promoting best practice across the team
  • Support and educate patients and their families throughout the rehabilitation journey, fostering engagement and confidence in the therapy process
  • Contribute to goal setting, discharge planning, and outcome measurement, ensuring therapy is evidence-based and outcome-focused
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and human rights of all service users are upheld, maintaining professional standards and compliance with regulatory requirements
