Brig Royd Surgery is looking for 2 Salaried GPs working 4 sessions each to join our friendly and thriving practice team.

We are based in Ripponden, West Yorkshire located in the beautiful Ryburn Valley between Manchester and Leeds, Junction 22 off the M62, and providing high-quality care to over 10,600 patients from purpose-built premises.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high-quality, evidence based and patient-centred care across a wide range of acute, chronic, and complex conditions.
  • In accordance with the timetable to be mutually agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including on call duties, surgery consultations, telephone queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and using EPS, dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • In consultation assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems as well as consideration of wider aspects such as screening, preventative health interventions and education.
  • Effectively manage own time, workload and resources.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, manage referral letters, and ensure compliance with all relevant Regulatory standards and Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, GDPR, Health and Safety, IPC.
  • Prescribing in accordance with the local prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, including nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacists, and administrative staff.
  • Contribute to continuity of care, quality and patient safety

Attending practice-based clinical meetings, case discussions, and participating in training events organised by the practice or other organisations e.g PCN

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical governance projects.

Support quality improvement initiatives, enhanced services (commissioned by Primary care network PCN or Integrated Care Board ICB) and practice development projects.

Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and appraisal processes including participation in an annual in house individual performance review

We are a well, established GP training practice situated within Ripponden. With 5 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 2 ANPs, 2 Practice Nurse's, 2 HCAs as well as an experienced administration team.

We are part of Calder and Ryburn PCN. We have a supportive PCN team which includes practice based Social Prescribing Link Worker, Care-Co-ordinator, First Contact Physios, Mental Health Practitioner and Pharmacists.

We highly value teamwork, meeting daily over refreshments to catch up and support each other through every session.

There is a fair workload distribution amongst the team members.
