Main duties of the job

  • Assist qualified nurses in the safe transfer of patients, ensuring every move is handled with care and professionalism
  • Deliver compassionate care, maintaining dignity and comfort at all times even in challenging situations
  • Provide crisis intervention for patients experiencing mental health difficulties, offering reassurance and practical support
  • Drive ambulances when required, ensuring safe, smooth and timely journeys
  • Complete accurate handovers and essential paperwork, capturing risk histories and current presentations to ensure continuity of care
  • Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, using your training and judgement to act in the patient's best interests
  • Follow safeguarding policies for both children and adults, always keeping safety and wellbeing as the priority
  • Take part in mandatory training, meetings and reviews so your skills and knowledge stay up to date
  • Check vehicles and equipment before each journey, reporting any issues promptly so we can deliver safe and reliable service
  • Build positive relationships with patients, colleagues and partner agencies, promoting equality, diversity and respect in every interaction

Job Opportunity In this role you will be a key figure in ensuring that every patient we care for feels safe, supported and respected. From the moment a transfer begins until the patient reaches their destination, you will play a hands-on role in safeguarding both their physical and emotional wellbeing.

Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week across the UK, we work in partnership with the NHS and private healthcare providers to deliver safe, dignified and compassionate support when it is needed most.
