We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to be the one of the first to join our team at HMP Millsike, a Category B men's prison, located in the village of Full Sutton near York. In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

HMP Millsike will have an operational capacity of 1500 people who will spend their sentences learning the skills they need to find work on release as part of the governments drive to cut reoffending.

Hours

Mon-Wed: 07:30-18:00

Thurs: 07:30-15:30

This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week.

Salary

Youll receive an annual salary up to £66,792 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner,your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems
  • Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team, This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety ofregistered and non-registered professionals including; mental health, and substance misuse practitioners
  • You will act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintainingprofessional standards at all times
  • Supporting senior clinicians on site you will be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients
  • As a clinical expert in your field, you will work with the team to ensure; patient safety, the management of complex cases and ensure the most up to date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.

Job description

This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including; mental health, and substance misuse practitioners. You will act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times.

Supporting senior clinicians on site you will be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients. As a clinical expert in your field, you will work with the team to ensure; patient safety, the management of complex cases and ensure the most up to date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.

You will also;

Provide outstanding evidence based care, listening and acting on patient feedback. Ensuring that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. You will also provide assessment, diagnostics, treatment and continued management of patients with acute and long term medical conditions.

Deliver non-judgemental care by leading the team to deliver care that is safe, high quality, patient centred whilst meeting CQC requirements following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Inspire excellence in your colleagues by pro-actively leading and motivating the team recognising that our workforce is our most valuable asset. You will provide professional leadership to the nursing team to ensure we provide a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of.

Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement embedding a culture of reflection and shared learning.

Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care and support your clinical and non-clinical colleagues to do a great job

Qualifications required:

  • Registered Nurse Adult Mental Health with current NMC or Registered Paramedic with current HCPC
  • Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
  • MSc in Advanced Practice
  • Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practiceguidance

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
