Job summary

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse you will lead and support patient transfers, ensuring safety, dignity and the highest standards of care throughout the journey. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, provide crisis intervention when needed, and be a calm, reassuring presence for those in your care.   • Provide high quality, evidence based mental health nursing care
  • Lead the team throughout the patient transfer process, ensuring clear communication and effective teamwork
  • Conduct thorough handovers, including risk history and current presentation, to maintain continuity of care
  • Deliver crisis intervention for patients experiencing acute mental health difficulties
  • Ensure all safeguarding responsibilities for children and adults are met in line with national and local policies
  • Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, using your training and judgement to ensure patient and staff safety
  • Attend all mandatory training, meetings and reviews to maintain professional competence
  • Complete accurate records and reports, ensuring they meet both clinical and organisational standards
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with patients, colleagues and partner agencies
  • Carry out vehicle and equipment checks before journeys and report any issues promptly
