Job summary

We are looking for a Ward Clerk to join our multi-disciplinary team on Ystwyth Ward in Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth

As the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the ward. We are seeking an organised, professional, and approachable individual who can thrive in a busy healthcare environment. You must have excellent communication skills and work well in a team. You will need to be able to work calmly and efficiently within a busy environment, whilst remaining focused on providing a person-centred approach to care. This role supports a 6-day service and includes weekend working on a rota basis. 22.5hrs with the option to work 30hrs over a 3 days per week.

The working pattern will include:

  • Monday
  • Tuesday
  • Alternate Wednesdays
  • Alternate Saturdays

Main duties of the job

The Ward Clerk will provide efficient and effective administrative support to Ystwyth Ward clinical staff. We are looking for someone who is motivated with good attention to detail, to help support the ward staff with a wide range of administrative tasks. Duties will involve updating hospital computer systems, handling medical records and answering the telephones. Full training will be provided. A strong sense of teamwork and commitment to maintaining high standards is essential. The role requires someone who enjoys working as part of a team, as well as under their own initiative. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
