Job summary
Location: Lymington, Hampshire.
Hours:22.5 hours per week, Working hours will vary day and night across the week.
Salary:£22,452.50 per annum (based on 22.5 hours per week) Full-Time Equivalent: £37,420.50 per annum. In addition, you will receive enhanced payments of 30% to 75% for unsocial hours, depending on shifts worked
Plus, unsociable enhancements between 30% and 75% depending on hours worked.
Must currently be working in the UK
We are looking for a Staff Nurse who wants to spend more time with their patients, who thrives within a supportive multi-disciplinary team and is excited to learn and develop their own skills.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality inpatient care to patients in a hospice setting, ensuring comfort and dignity
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone with
You need to have a least 2 years experiences as a UK qualified Nurse,Ideally within Palliative Care
NMC Level 1 or 2 and recent experience of nursing patients with palliative care needs or oncology would be essential as is the experience of caring for families and patients facing the challenge of terminal illness.
As a Staff Nurses you will need to have excellent communication skills to enable you to discuss difficult end of life issues and to confidently liaise with other healthcare professionals at all levels.
A compassionate manner and a responsible, mature attitude are also essential.
The successful candidate will be expected to have a fully flexible approach to working patterns, covering days and nights.
Job description
To assess individual patients care needs and to organise and implement an appropriate programme of care.
To ensure programmes of care are implemented throughout the 24-hour period.
To maintain continuing personal contact with patients and their relatives and be responsible for the evaluation of programmes of care.
To be fully aware of all current hospice policies and procedures and implement accordingly.
To work flexibly in order to provide continuity of patient care within all areas of the service.
To ensure that all nursing records are completed accurately and updated at each shift handover.
To carry out/supervise the implementation of specific treatments and clinical procedures, including physiotherapy treatments.
To report to the Sister or Charge Nurse on call any relevant information on the condition of specific patients, their care and treatment.
To report any complaints from patients and/or relatives to the Senior Sister or Charge Nurse.
To report to the Senior Sister or Charge Nurse any matter affecting the smooth running of the Unit.
To administer drugs and assist with their ordering and storage in accordance with the NMC Standards for the Administration of Medicine.
To develop and maintain effective working relationships with all professionals and volunteers working within the hospice and community setting.
To maintain confidentiality at all times and adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
To give and receive verbal reports to and from the clinical team within the hospice and community to ensure effective communication.
