Job summary
We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team at Rye Medical Centre, a well-established rural practice serving the communities of Rye and the surrounding villages in East Sussex. Whether you are an experienced GP or newly qualified, you will be joining a collaborative practice that values teamwork, professional development and delivering high-quality patient care. You will provide safe, effective and patient-centred care to our practice population, managing a varied clinical workload including acute, chronic and preventative care. Working alongside experienced clinical and administrative colleagues, you will have the opportunity to contribute to service development, quality improvement and the ongoing success of the practice. Main duties of the job
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centred medical care through face-to-face, telephone and online consultations, managing acute, chronic and preventative healthcare needs. - Assess, diagnose and manage patients appropriately, including prescribing safely, making referrals and promoting health and wellbeing. - Undertake timely clinical administration, including referrals, prescriptions, test results, medical reports and maintaining accurate clinical records. - Conduct medication reviews and manage long-term conditions in line with NICE guidance and local pathways. - Undertake home visits when required. - Participate in ward rounds and clerk patients within the local nurse-led inpatient unit, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care. - Work collaboratively with colleagues across the practice and wider primary care network, contributing to an equitable share of the clinical workload. - Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, audit and service development, supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe and effective services. - Support and mentor members of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to education, training and a positive learning environment. - Maintain GMC registration, appraisal, revalidation and mandatory training requirements, ensuring compliance with professional standards, safeguarding responsibilities and practice policies.
