Main duties of the job

In particular, your attention is drawn to the fact that the post advertised may include routine evening and week-end working as part of the working arrangements for the new hospital the details of which are currently under discussion. The specific scheduling of such activities would be subject to mutual agreement and may be agreed at a later date in the future.

Job description

The post holder will participate in the consultant-led paediatric trauma service to maintain high quality trauma care with consultant involvement in early operative work and fracture clinic supervision. They will be involved in the comprehensive paediatric elective service.

As well as general paediatric elective work, the successful applicant will be expected to take on a sub-specialist role sharing the management of the developmental dysplasia of the hip and clubfoot service in order to compliment the interests and sub-specialities of the current post holders. Experience within other specific areas of paediatric orthopaedics is desirable but not essential, for example, limb reconstruction, pelvic and hip surgery, or foot & ankle surgery.
