An exciting opportunity had arisen for abookingclerkto join theRespiratoryteam at Dorset County Hospital.
This is a varied,interestingand rewarding role, and we are looking for a post holder who is professional, confident,keenand friendly. You will need to be able to communicate with everyone in the MDT, including consultants, nurses, secretaries,patientsand external agencies so having excellent communication skills is essential to the role.
The post is based within theRespiratoryDepartment,North Wing Level 2at Dorset County Hospital.
This role is for 37.5 hours per week

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to undertake a range of general administrative duties for the department includingcreating and amendingpatientsdiagnosticappointments; bookinginpatientdiagnostic appointments; to answer telephone and email queries; andescalate patient queries whereappropriate.
This role plays a key part in ensuringtimelydiagnostics andmaintainingsmooth patient pathways within Respiratory Medicine, supporting the team to deliver high quality care and meet service demand.
The jobholder would be expected to act on own initiative andbe responsible fortheir own actions and be able to make decisions within their role and seek advice, ifrequired, from various members of the MDT team.The successful candidate will also contribute to the smooth running of the overall administrative service and patient pathways, covering for others when on leave asappropriate.
As a member of a team in the department, the post holder will be expected to work flexibly with other members of the team to ensure the best possible patient care.
