Job summary

Join a new service at Campsfield focused on providing a high-quality service to the residents. As a Health Care Assistant, you will be providing a range of support to the healthcare department.

The duties will vary depending on the needs of the department with the days priorities agreed with the Head of Healthcare and Senior Clinical Lead. You will work with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver an excellent healthcare service which is evidenced based, person-centred, and non-judgement care. You will work closely with our partners and stakeholders striving for continuous quality improvement and ensuring healthcare records are maintained in accordance with governance policies.

Main duties of the job

Attend emergency response situations

Management and care of minor illness and injuries

Complete health promotion

Be the named lead for an area of healthcare

Support the Primary Care Nursing team with all aspects of care

Support the running of clinics including, bloods, vaccinations, wound care

Assessment of patients including those who have just arrived

Be a second checker for the dispensing of controlled medication

About Us

DrPA has been operating in secure environments since 2014 providing General Practitioner services and we are now growing to provide a complete healthcare service at Campsfield IRC by NHS England. This will be delivered directly or through a range of specialist partners who are experts in their field. We deliver our services based on our ethos of CARE:

Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre (IRC)

Campsfield IRC is a secure facility currently designed to accommodate up to 160 male residents in both single and dual occupancy rooms. The centre houses a combination of time-served foreign national offenders and immigration offenders while the Home Office arranges their removal from the UK.

Residents are not permitted to leave the centre or access the local area. Consequently, recreational, educational, healthcare, living, and faith-related facilities are provided entirely onsite.

The healthcare department provides a range of services including primary care, mental health, substance misuse, pharmacy, dental, optometry, physiotherapy, podiatry, and audiology delivered either by us or our specialist partners.

Join us at the beginningWhere possible, this role will be starting before the centre opens. During this period, you will be undertaking your company and centre induction, supporting setting up the department, helping where required, and generally supporting the service to go live as prepared as we can be.

Criteria

Essential

NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care

Experience working in a healthcare environment

Enthusiastic and dedicated to providing high quality care

Believe and work within Dr PA Secures values

Desirable

Competent in venepuncture

Experience in wound management

Previous experience within a secure setting

Ability to participate in multi professional teamwork.
