The Oxford Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) plays a vital role in delivering urgent mental health crisis assessment, intervention, and home treatment to people experiencing acute mental health difficulties. Our aim is to provide timely, compassionate, person-centred care in the least restrictive environment wherever it is safe and appropriate.

Our Crisis Team operates within a dynamic, fast-paced, 24/7 service across Oxfordshire. We are seeking an experienced Registered Mental Health Professional to join us as aCrisis Clinical Lead on a full time basis.

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic clinician with excellent leadership, clinical decision-making, and communication skills. The successful candidate will provide visible clinical leadership, supporting staff to deliver safe, effective, evidence-based care. They will be confident in managing complex presentations, undertaking robust risk assessments, coordinating urgent interventions, and working collaboratively with patients, carers, and partner agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Main duties of the job

As a Crisis Clinical Lead, you will provide visible clinical leadership and operational support to the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT), ensuring the safe, effective, and responsive delivery of urgent mental health care. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will support clinicians to deliver high-quality assessments, interventions, and care planning for people experiencing a mental health crisis.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing day-to-day clinical leadership and professional support to the multidisciplinary Crisis Team.
  • Undertaking and overseeing comprehensive mental health, psychosocial, and risk assessments.
  • Supporting clinicians to develop, implement, and review evidence-based care plans and crisis interventions.
  • Promoting safe clinical decision-making and care in the least restrictive environment.
  • Providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and support to registered and unregistered staff.
  • Working collaboratively with inpatient, community, primary care, emergency services, and partner agencies to ensure seamless care.
  • Leading on safeguarding, risk management, and clinical governance in line with Trust policies.
  • Supporting Team Managers with service development, quality improvement, audit, and workforce performance.
  • Acting as Clinical Shift Coordinator and deputising for the Team Manager when required.
  • Promoting innovation, continuous learning, and a culture of compassionate, person-centred care.
