Job summary

We are currently recruiting a CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner to join our Wrexham and Flintshire teams. The band 6 post will be supporting the LAC pathway across the East and will support our scheduled and unscheduled team functions.

As the post holder you will provide direct mental health treatment to Children and Young People who are in care, edge of care, adopted or subject to a Special Guardianship Order. This role will include direct consultation to carers and social workers, with additional direct clinical work with CYP and their carers.

The post holder will provide specialist clinical practice input to the team, delivering practice within best evidence and to the highest possible standard.

The post holder will contribute to the establishment of a positive working environment and open learning culture, which fosters high morale and commitment within the CAMHS LAC pathway.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will contribute to the establishment of a positive working environment and open learning culture, which fosters high morale and commitment within the CAMHS LAC pathway.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting the mental health needs of Children and Young People. To attend multi-agency planning meetings in relation to risk management together with are and support planning for the Children and Young People in line with relevant legislative policy and guidance.

We are looking for practitioners who can work flexibly across these different areas of the service with the enthusiasm needed to engage a wide range of children, young people, their families and other professionals in meeting their diverse needs.

You must be a registered professional with a relevant governing body (NMC, Social Care council or health professionals council) and be able to deliver mental health assessments and evidence based interventions for children and young people.

Experience of working in the community with children and young people/adults who are displaying a range of risk type behaviours, complex mental health needs and complex family situations would be an advantage.

The service operates 7 day working and the willingness and ability to work across the service hours is essential.
