Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full-Time Band 4 Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the STRIVE Team, part of the wider national Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway. The role sits within a small psychologically led multi-agency team with a strong focus on supervision, training and continuing professional development.

We are seeking to recruit a motivated, and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant with experience of working with people from a range of social , cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Applicants should have an interest in working with individuals who have offending histories and personality difficulties and be committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in line with national standards.

As a member of the STRIVE Team, you will support the Occupational Therapists in delivering interventions within the community, both through individual sessions and group work. The role involves working closely with service users to support their rehabilitation and resettlement from custody into the community.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking someone who is flexible, approachable and able to work effectively as part of a multiagency team. Good communication, organisational and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to manage a varied workload.

The successful applicant will be required to travel to work-related appointments and transport service users as part of their resettlement support. A full driving licence and access to appropriate transport are therefore essential for this role.

The Trust is committed to supporting staff through regular supervision, training and development opportunities, and we encourage applications from individuals who are keen to develop their skills and experience within this specialist area of practice.

Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.

Job description

For the main duties and responsibilities for this role please read the attached job description and person specification. When completing your application please ensure your supporting statement reflects the criteria set out in these documents by showing how your experience and skills apply to this post.

We understand that using AI can be a useful and supportive tool when completing your application. However, we have also seen an increase in the over-reliance of AI tools which is negatively impacting applications as they remove candidates individuality, and it becomes much harder to get a sense of who you are and your authentic experience. If you do use AI, it should be used to enhance your application and not to create your supporting statement in its entirety. If we suspect you have used AI to create your supporting statement and this does not match your experience, we may withdraw your application.
