Job summary

As our Clinical Educator, you will lead on the development and delivery of high-quality education and training programmes for registered and non-registered staff working within community services.

You will work closely with clinical leaders, operational leaders, modern matrons, and system partners to ensure staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to meet the evolving needs of patients closer to home. Through coaching, mentorship, and innovative educational approaches, you will foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development, starting with supporting the workforce to embed the 9 Core UEC Capabilities into everyday practice and deliver outstanding care across community based services.

Main duties of the job

You will play a pivotal role in developing, delivering, and evaluating education programmes that support workforce competency, clinical excellence, and service transformation across Urgent Emergency Care (UEC), Virtual Wards, and Long Term Conditions services. We are seeking an individual with a genuine passion for education and workforce development, who is committed to nurturing talent, inspiring others, and creating learning opportunities that enable staff to reach their full potential.

A key element of the role will be to support the development of staff in line with the 9 Core Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) Capabilities, ensuring colleagues are equipped to deliver high-quality, responsive care. This includes developing capabilities in:

  • Clinical assessment and decision-making
  • Person-centred care and communication
  • Managing complexity, frailty, and long-term conditions
  • Urgent care response and clinical escalation
  • Multi-disciplinary and system-wide working
  • Leadership and professional accountability
  • Health promotion and prevention
  • Digital and technological competence
  • Quality improvement, reflection, and service development

Job description

To facilitate the training and development of staff working at Place and urgent care and the implementation of evidence based practice by supporting staff in clinical practice thus contributing to the continual development of quality services provided to patients and others who come into contact with the Trust. The post holder will be clinically based, placing the clinical environment at the heart of learning and will participate in specific projects related to clinical practice.
