We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Five Wells, a category C  Prison located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

HMP Five Wells has a capacity of 1800 males.    HMP Five Wells is a GPHC Registered Pharmacy, the prison has its own pharmacy on site with 7 administration points based on each house block and will be working as part of a large pharmacy team of 14      Hours:

  • Monday - Sunday service
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Week 1 & 3  - 4 days
  • Week 2 & 4 - 3 days
  • Every other weekends
  • Weekdays - 7am - 7.15pm
  • Weekends - 8.00am - 5.30pm

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary between £34,428 - £41,658 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • You will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
  • You will be required to work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact, which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs.
  • promote safe patient care
  • develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

  • Hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
