Main duties of the job

  • Respond to emergency and urgent care incidents, delivering safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
  • Assess patients, provide appropriate treatment, administer medications, and determine the most suitable care pathway.
  • Safely operate emergency vehicles and transport patients when required.
  • Work collaboratively with emergency services and healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with clinical, health and safety, and safeguarding standards.
  • Check and maintain vehicles, equipment, and medical supplies to ensure operational readiness.
  • Participate in ongoing training, professional development, and quality improvement activities.

Job description

As a Frontline Paramedic, you will provide high-quality emergency and urgent care to patients in a range of pre-hospital settings. You will assess, treat, and manage patients using your clinical expertise, making informed decisions to ensure they receive the most appropriate care.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents, operate emergency vehicles where required, and maintain accurate patient records. You will deliver compassionate, patient-centred care while adhering to HCPC standards, national clinical guidelines, and organisational policies.

The role requires excellent communication, sound clinical judgement, and the ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations. You will also contribute to maintaining operational readiness by ensuring vehicles and equipment are safe, stocked, and fit for purpose, while participating in ongoing professional development and mandatory training.
