Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Perinatal Matron to work within our maternity services that where rated as outstanding by CQC at their latest visit.

With transformational leadership skills and extensive midwifery experience, the post holder will be accountable for the provision of high-quality care in their area/s of responsibility. Working within the maternity senior leadership team the post holder will provide professional, clinical, and managerial leadership, also working in collaboration with the wider matron team within the Royal United Hospital.

The post holder will provide expert advice to Midwives / Nurses / Leads and other managers to ensure that midwifery and neonatal practice and patient care is delivered to the highest standards.

This post is currently offered at 18.75 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours subject to funding approval, which is currently progressing through BSW and ICB governance processes. For further information, please contact [email protected]

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the Midwifery and Neonatal leadership, improvement, and managementof services within own defined clinical area/specialty in order to ensure the highest standardsof patient care and service are delivered in the most efficient and effective way.To provide expert advice to Midwives / Nurses / Leads and other managers / leaders toensure that midwifery and neonatal practice and patient care is delivered to the higheststandards. To assume the role of Matron within own area of clinical responsibility and support the Headof Midwifery and Neonates to provide expert advice as required.To ensure the fundamentals of care are delivered effectively within own defined clinicalarea/specialty and that competence in clinical practice is both developed and maintained, tomaximise the patient experience and service.To take a professional lead role in advising and supporting the Divisional Leadership Teamwithin the corporate perinatal agenda, in addition to own specialist area of practice anddevelopment.To participate in the manager on call rota and to deputise for the Deputy Director of Midwifery
