Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response (EPRR) Manager to join Barnsley & Rotherham Trusts. This senior role will lead the development, implementation and assurance of the Trust's Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) and Business Continuity programmes, ensuring compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, Health and Care Act 2022 and NHS England EPRR Core Standards across both Trusts. Working closely with Executive Directors, Care Groups, Corporate Services and external partners, you will provide expert leadership and specialist advice to ensure the organisation is prepared to respond effectively to major incidents, disruptive events and emerging risks. The post holder will represent both Trusts across local, regional and national EPRR forums and play a key role in strengthening resilience across the wider health and care system.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will: Lead the Trust's EPRR and Business Continuity programmes. Provide specialist advice to senior leaders, managers and clinical teams. Ensure compliance with national legislation, regulations and NHS EPRR standards. Develop, maintain and test emergency response, business continuity and incident management plans. Design and deliver Trust-wide EPRR training, exercising and development programmes. Lead multi-agency planning and partnership working across health, local authority and emergency services organisations. Support the management of incidents and emergency responses, ensuring lessons learned are implemented. Influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, including Board, executive and system partners. Horizon scan for emerging risks and ensure preparedness plans are developed accordingly.We are looking for an experienced professional with: Significant experience in Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response, Business Continuity or a related field. Excellent knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act, NHS EPRR Framework and emergency planning. Experience of developing and delivering emergency plans, exercises and training programmes. Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder management skills. Experience of working collaboratively across organisational and professional boundaries. The ability to analyse complex situations, make informed decisions and provide clear specialist advice.
