Job summary

Brent Children's Clinical Service Unit (CSU) is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Services Manager to provide operational leadership for our 0-19 Universal Children's Services portfolio.

Reporting to the Head of Clinical Services, you will lead high-quality, patient-centred services, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective care and achievement of contractual, quality and performance targets. You will provide strategic and operational leadership, driving service improvement, workforce development, quality improvement and transformation that respond to the evolving needs of children, young people and families.

You will be supporting the NHS shift towards neighbourhood working and will work with health, local authority and voluntary sector partners to develop integrated services, strengthen multi-agency collaboration and improve outcomes for children and young people.

The portfolio includes Health Visiting, School Nursing, Healthy Weight and Infant Feeding services.

The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with strong operational management skills, a track record of delivering performance targets, leading teams and managing change. You will be confident using data to drive improvement, managing HR issues, managing resources effectively and building strong partnerships.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the operational management and development of services within the portfolio, ensuring high-quality, patient-centred, responsive and cost-effective care that meets contractual, quality and performance requirements.
  • Lead service, pathway and transformation development with ICBs, local authorities, NHS providers and voluntary sector partners to improve outcomes, maximise resources and embed best practice.
  • Provide visible, compassionate leadership, fostering a positive culture that promotes staff wellbeing, inclusion, learning, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Monitor and improve service performance against activity, quality, outcome and financial targets, using data analysis to identify trends, address variances and implement improvement plans.
  • Promote quality, safety and patient experience by overseeing complaints, incidents, audits and learning, ensuring lessons are embedded into practice and service improvement.
  • Lead demand and capacity management, ensuring services remain sustainable, efficient and able to meet current and future population needs.
