Plastics and dermatology outpatients is a supportive and dynamic team where you will gain experience in trauma care and develop a wide range of clinical skills. You will be encouraged to grow, with access to training and opportunities to progress within your role.
Applicants who do not meet the full criteria for appointment at Band 3 may be appointed at Band 2 and supported through a structured development programme including completion of required competencies and qualifications with progression to Band 3 subject to evidence of competence and service need.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and assisting in outpatient clinics
- Assisting with setting up minor procedure rooms
- Assisting in dressing clinics
- Collecting information from patients for clinics
- Undertaking enhanced clinical tasks such as:
- Specimen collection
- Wound care and simple dressings
- Supporting and guiding junior staff and new starters
This role can be physically and emotionally demanding, requiring resilience and a caring approach when supporting patients with trauma-related injuries.
