Job summary

St Ann's and Alderney Hospital are looking for a experienced Chef who is passionate about food and wants to make a difference. The ideal candidate will have passion for culinary excellence, strong leadership abilities and the ability to problem solve and the ability to build relationships.

37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday with occasionally weekend working, early and late shifts to the needs of the business

As Chef manager you will have full operational control and financial responsibility including the staff dining rooms for the two sites reporting into the area facilities manager.

Main duties of the job

Supervising and supporting the two catering teams, ensuring the day to day operation is smooth running.

Recruiting, managing and training catering teams.

Planning of menus, orders, deliveries and Budget control.

Managing food safety, Health & Safety , COSHH and allergens legislation.

This post is part of the Facilities & Estates Service that Dorset Healthcare may transfer to an NHS wholly owned subsidiary company, from November 2025 or later.
