Job summary

**MPFT Expression of Interest from Qualified ACPs across the Mental Health Portfolio of Staffordshire and Stoke-on Trent Care Group**

Candidates should be Registered Mental Health Nurses currently working within Mental Health Services, South Staffordshire with the required qualifications to undertake this position.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 8c Consultant Nurse within the Community Mental Health service based in South Staffordshire. The post will be aligned to the Integrated Mental Health Team East Staffs and will be based in Horninglow Clinic Burton.

You will predominately work as part of the IMHT but will be expected to support and provide input across the whole community mental health service provision, reflective of needs.

You will act in the role of Responsible Clinician (RC), or working towards RC, as defined in the Mental Health Act 1983 revision 2007, for a specific caseload of patients, working alongside and covering for Consultant Psychiatrist colleagues.

If the successful applicant is working towards RC then banding will be agreed at an 8b until qualified.

Main duties of the job

As Nurse Consultant you will already be experienced in working with adults and mental health and have a sound clinical and management background in this field.

You will be required to lead the service in any future expansion in line with local and national policy, by using their experience in managing and working within multi-disciplinary teams and the input of service users to guide future change.

This post will form part of the senior collective leadership group and take an active role in the transformation of community mental health provision across the care group.

This role will require a high level of integrated working and will require the post holder to take a lead in the development and enhancement of relationships with partner providers and service user / carer groups.

The post holder will have experience in teaching and education within the field of practice and will be required to work with the trust's research department in undertaking research within the role and their clinical practice.

As Nurse Consultant you will lead and innovate, whilst incorporating service evaluation and bringing proactive thinking and developmentwithin the team and the wider trust workforce.
