Job summary

The post holder will join as an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) for Luton and South Bedfordshire CAMHS, with a focus on Central Bedfordshire located pathways, working in partnership with Luton locality focused Deputy ACD, the Associate Clinical Director (ACD) and General Manager (GM), to jointly lead on the delivery of the highest standards of care and services for Luton and South Bedfordshire children and young people with mental health needs and their families/carers.

The post holder will contribute to the clinical, professional, strategic and partnership management of the Central Bedfordshire located service to ensure that the services offered are effective, evidence based, accessible and outcomes oriented. With SLT colleagues, the post holder will jointly bring together all component parts of a seamless stepped care pathway service to ensure robust patient safety, improved patient experience, positive and measurable outcomes and high quality and performance standards.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a senior CAMHS clinician and provide inspirational leadership to all non-medical CAMHS professionals in the service, working closely with other senior clinical and professional leads locally and across the Trust. They will hold an overview within the service of the balance and range of CAMHS interventions available, lead on workforce development of non-medical professionals, acting as a specialist resource and source of advice for multidisciplinary Clinical Team Leads.

In conjunction with the SLT, the post holder will develop service partnerships with other agencies, whole system care pathways, parent/carer and cyp participation forums, clinical and professional networks. They will proactively engage with key stakeholders, commissioners, participation leads and senior CAMHS staff to build a flexible, inclusive and effective system of service pathways, building relational resilience in the community and ensure child and families have equal opportunities to thrive. This will include co-construction with system partners in Central Bedfordshire in the development and redesign of services, the implementation of service changes and the delivery of efficiency savings where appropriate.
