Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Band 6 Senior Community Learning Disability/Mental Health Nurse to join our Community Learning Disability and Autism.
This is an excellent opportunity for a registered nurse seeking to develop their clinical leadership skills while delivering high-quality, person-centred care to individuals with complex learning disability and mental health needs.
The successful candidate will provide specialist assessments, care coordination, risk management, and evidence-based interventions, working closely with service users, families, carers, and partner agencies. They will also support junior staff through supervision and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
We welcome applications from nurses with experience in learning disability, mental health, community, or inpatient settings. Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical skills, sound professional judgement, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to improving outcomes for people with complex needs.

Main duties of the job
As a Band 6 Senior Community Learning Disability/Mental Health Nurse, you will provide specialist assessment, care coordination, risk management, and therapeutic interventions for individuals with complex learning disability and mental health needs within the community.
We are committed to supporting your professional development through leadership programmes, clinical supervision, mentorship, and opportunities to undertake recognised qualifications and specialist training.
This is a rewarding but sometimes challenging role, requiring compassion, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting service users, carers, and families. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, positive risk management, and the importance of working collaboratively across health, social care, and partner agencies.
You will provide clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team, support and supervise junior colleagues, contribute to service improvement initiatives, and promote high standards of care, safety, and clinical governance.
