Main duties of the job

As a Medical Secretary at Farmfield Hospital, you'll work 22.5 hours a week providing administrative support to the medical team. This role includes managing diaries, planning meetings, and updating records. You'll assist Registered Clinicians with confidential paperwork, service user records, and GP letters, while liaising with external agencies. Your tasks will also involve supporting meetings, checking documents for errors, participating in regulatory matters, coordinating the hospital diary, booking meetings, and arranging conference calls. The position offers career growth opportunities through various courses. Successful candidates will have IT skills, audio typing experience, communication and organizational abilities, a minimum of 4 GCSEs, and knowledge of mental health and medications.

As a Medical Secretary you will be:

  • Supporting the Registered Clinician with letters and general documentation
  • Supporting all meetings as minute taker as requested by the Medical Director or by the member of  the SLT
  • checking and amending for spelling and grammatical errors.
  • Participating in the administration, development and evaluation of regulatory matters.
  • Co-ordinating the hospital diary and the whereabouts of the clinicians
  • Booking in meetings
  • Arranging Conference Calls

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Experience of audio typing
  • Communication and organisational skills
  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent
  • Knowledge of mental health and medications

Where you will be working:

Location: Farmfield Drive, Charlwood, Surrey, RH6 0BN You will be working at Farmfield Hospital, located next to Gatwick. You’ll be caring for adult men 18+ who potentially have a forensic background and enduring mental health illnesses such as personality disorder, substance misuse issues and challenging behaviours.
