Job summary
Part-time Health Care Assistant 10-16 hours per week on Wednesday and Friday.
We are increasing our HCA provision and are looking to recruit a friendly, experienced and reliable Health Care Assistant to join our team.

We are a friendly and enthusiastic surgery located in Wellspring Healthy Living Centre. We have an ever-growing team of staff delivering services to a registered list of 11000 patients.
The nursing team is enthusiastic, patient-focused and we will actively help you to continue with your CPD.
This post does not qualify for a UK right to work visa.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an HCA who is happy to work as part of a busy team. We need an excellent communicator who prioritises patient safety at all times.
Measuring and recording physiological measurements:
- phlebotomy
- blood pressure
- height and weight - body mass index
- ECG
- annual review checks
- Adult health checks
- Lifestyle advice
Job description
Essential tasks
- taking patient blood samples
- accurately measuring and recording blood pressure, BMI, ECG
- systematically completing annual health review observations
- NHS Adult health checks
- supportive conversations with patients regarding lifestyle
- urinalaysis and preparation of specimens for pathology
- preparing and maintaining clinical rooms
- supporting patients whilst in the surgery
- safely and accurately communicating patient tasks using emis and alerting clinical staff if there is a risk
- participating in audit and quality improvement projects
- participating in clinical research tasks
- completing all statutory training and additional necessary training to support vulnerable patients
- taking responsibility for your CPD and recording as required

Wellspring Surgery provides primary care services to 11,000 patients in diverse and vibrant Barton Hill and surrounding communities in inner-city Bristol. Wellspring Surgery is a core teaching, training, and research practice. The team is very friendly and focused on supporting the needs of our local community. Wellspring Surgery is an active participant in the Bristol Deep End GP Network, a member of the Bristol Inner City Primary Care Network and we work closely with our colleagues across the Inner City and East locality.
We are committed to continually improving the patient and staff experience of our services, recognising the barriers to access for our population and are currently focusing on continuity of care.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, empathy and ability to work alongside our patients to support their priorities.
The Surgery comprises 3 GP Partners, 9 salaried GPs and a fabulous and growing multi-disciplinary team of Nursing, Clinical Practitioner, Clinical Pharmacists, Podiatry, Mental Health Practitioner, BDP, Social Prescribing and Administration.
