Job summary

The Bromley West ADAPT (Anxiety, Depression, Affective, Personality, Trauma) community mental health team are looking to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Psychologist following the previous post holders progression to doctoral training.

You will work within a highly supportive psychological therapies team who value and utilise a wide range of approaches (e.g. CBT, psychodynamic, systemic, EMDR, CFT), and as part of the MDT who highly value psychological therapies role in the team.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to both individual and group assessments and interventions as well as completing clinically relevant administration.

Main duties of the job

To support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service, across all sectors of care; contributing to the assessment and formulation of clients' presenting issues and delivering psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.

To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.

Job description

Key Task and Responsibilities

Clinical:

  • To contribute towards the assessment of client needs applying psychological theory, self-report measures and rating scales, and observations of clients accessing the psychoeducation group programme within the service
  • To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a clients problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
  • To assist in the coordination and running of psychoeducation groups in the service, as well as any other relevant clinical projects, such as service user involvement groups.
  • To contribute to multidisciplinary discussions regarding client care as agreed with the clinical psychologist providing supervision.
  • To assist in the development of a psychological based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings where care takes place.
