Job summary

We are seeking a 6-8 session GP to join our tight-knit team on a permanent, salaried basis.

We are looking for someone with the competence and confidence to work autonomously, whilst having the insight and awareness to operate within a well-established clinical governance framework - something that we have proudly developed to enable and ensure safe working, whilst offering optimum results.

We welcome interested candidates to visit the Practice before applying.

Main duties of the job

As a GP at Quedgeley Medical Centre, you will provide routine assessment, diagnosis and treatment to child and adult patients, and contribute to a shared triage rota to assess urgent, on-the-day matters.

You will become an integral part of our team; working closely with other GPs, GP trainees, nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacy staff and admin staff.

We offer regular team meetings, a positive approach towards training and further learning, and an ethos of teamwork and togetherness. We're looking for someone keen to join us on our long-term journey as we navigate through existing and new challenges and strive to deliver a high standard of patient care.

Job description

The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with general practice.

Here at QMC, we have relatively low levels of deprivation within our population and support a large number of young, working families as well as older people.

As a GP working at QMC, some of the more common issues you will come across include:

  • Women's health
  • Frailty and elderly health
  • Chronic disease care

Our GP Partners and salaried GPs take great pride in knowing patients and their families intimately, which greatly aides in understanding health seeking behaviour and seeing the 'bigger picture' to piece together what is happening for the individual.

About us

Quedgeley Medical Centre is a two-partner GP practice situated just outside the city of Gloucester and close to the M5 and A38, making it ideal for commuting.

The Practice has seen significant growth in the last couple of years, with a large extension and full refurbishment creating a clean, bright, modern and comfortable working environment. Our well-rounded, experienced clinical and support team has also grown to meet the needs of our growing patient population.

Earlier this year, QMC was rated in the top 10 of GP Practices within the county of Gloucestershire - and was one of just two inner-city Practices to feature in the top 10.
