Main duties of the job
- Provide comprehensive primary medical care to patients across a range of acute and chronic conditions.
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients through face-to-face and telephone consultations.
- Prescribe medications and review treatment plans in accordance with evidence-based guidelines.
- Refer patients appropriately to secondary care and other community services.
- Undertake routine chronic disease management, preventative care and health promotion.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient-centred care.
- Recognise and manage urgent and potentially serious presentations, escalating care where appropriate.
- Contribute to clinical governance, audits, significant event reviews and practice quality improvement.
- Maintain professional knowledge and competence through continuing professional development and training.

A GP who:
- Holds full GMC registration and licence to practise
- Is included on the NHS England Performers List
- Has excellent communication and clinical skills
