Job summary

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Clinical Fellow in Palliative Medicine to join our experienced multidisciplinary medical team on a fixed-term basis of 12 months.

Main duties of the job

This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor wishing to develop their skills in palliative medicine, whether you are preparing for higher specialist training or looking to broaden your experience before a future career in medicine or general practice.

Job description

You will work closely with our consultants, specialty doctors and wider clinical team to provide specialist palliative care. Key responsibilities include: Providing high-quality specialist palliative medical care to hospice inpatients. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient-centred care. Supporting junior medical colleagues, including GP trainees. Contributing to clinical governance, quality improvement and clinical audit. Participating in teaching and education for healthcare professionals and students.

Job responsibilitiesTo work as part of the Hospice medical team to assist in the provision of a palliative medicine service to St Raphaels Hospice. To be involved in teaching and learning, in clinical audit and other governance activities. To gain experience and skills in palliative medicine, across hospice and community services, to equip the postholder to apply for formal higher training posts in the specialty, alternatively to enhance prospects and clinical skills for future trainees in medicine or general practice.
