Job summary

Surrey Lodge Group Practice is a friendly, patient-focused GP practice committed to delivering high-quality care to our local community. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our clinical team and support the delivery of excellent patient care.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team alongside GPs, Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists, and Administrative staff.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Practice Nursing Team and will undertake a range of clinical duties, including:

  • Phlebotomy (taking blood samples)
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Height, weight and BMI measurements
  • New patient health checks
  • NHS Health Checks
  • ECG recordings
  • Urinalysis
  • Smoking cessation and health promotion advice
  • Assisting with vaccination and immunisation programmes
  • Wound care and dressing clinics (where trained and competent)
  • Chaperoning duties
  • Stock management and ordering of clinical supplies
  • Processing and preparing specimens for collection
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS Web
  • Preparing and maintaining clinical rooms and equipment
  • Supporting infection prevention and control procedures
