Work Well is a countywide programme supporting people with health-related barriers to find work, stay in work, or return to employment. It is coordinated by General Practice Alliance (GPA), as the lead provider, in partnership with other VCSE partners. By bringing together healthcare, community support and employment guidance, Work Well offers a joined up service that helps people access the right support at the right time.
GPA are recruiting three full-time Work & Health Coach Team Leadson a fixed term contract until March 2029, toprovide leadership, line management and operational oversight across our coaching team. In this role, you'll guide and support coaches to deliver high-quality, person-centred practice, while also contributing directly to frontline delivery for individuals with more complex needs.
While a full time working pattern is desired, we welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time, starting at 22.5 hours per week, or other flexible working arrangements, and will consider these in line with service needs.

Main duties of the job
As a Work & Health Coach Team Lead, you'll oversee the day-to-day delivery of the Work Well coaching service, ensuring high-quality practice, strong performance and positive participant outcomes. You'll provide line management, supervision and wellbeing support to your team, monitor KPIs and service data, and lead quality assurance activities that drive continuous improvement.
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you'll maintain a small caseload of individuals with more complex health and employment related barriers, ensuring you remain connected to frontline practice.
You'll also build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, employers and VCSE partners, representing Work Well at meetings and supporting collaborative working across the system.

Job description
- Lead, manage and support a team of Work & Health Coaches, ensuring effective delivery of service objectives, high-quality practice and positive participant outcomes.
- Provide formal line management including regular one-to-one meetings, supervision, wellbeing support, performance management, absence management and development planning.
- Monitor team performance against programme KPIs, outcomes and contractual requirements, identifying trends, risks and opportunities and implementing improvement plans where required.
- Analyse service data and management information to support decision-making, performance reporting and continuous improvement across the service.
- Oversee data quality and compliance, ensuring accurate and timely recording of activity, outcomes and case management information.
- Lead quality assurance activities including audits, case reviews, peer learning and reflective practice to maintain high standards of delivery.
- Maintain a reduced caseload of individuals with complex health, wellbeing and employment-related barriers, providing specialist coaching and vocational support where required.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with healthcare professionals, employers, VCSE organisations and system partners, strengthening referral pathways and addressing operational challenges.
- Represent the Work Well service at partnership meetings, stakeholder forums, networking events and promotional activities, acting as an ambassador for the programme.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Work Well programme, supporting innovation, service redesign, quality improvement and achievement of strategic objectives.
