Job summary

We are seeking to enhance the Perinatal Trauma and Loss Care Service (P-TLC) with an additional Adult Psychotherapist. We are looking for a clinician with a clear passion and interest in working with women and birthing people. The post will be 0.6 WTE, 22.5 hours a week.

P-TLC prides itself on being a collaborative, innovative and supportive team to work in. We are a team motivated to provide the best service to those in our communities. We provide countywide individual therapy to women and birthing people who have experienced trauma and / or loss through their maternity experience.

The service works closely with IAPT services, The Perinatal Community Mental Health Team and other mental health services to provide therapy for women and birthing people whose needs cannot be met by existing pathways in those services. We work collaboratively with ULTH Maternity Services to ensure good communication and high-quality care for those open to both P-TLC and maternity services.

We prioritise staff well-being and promote CPD. P-TLC has links with universities which provide opportunities to teach and support trainee clinical psychologists on placement. We pride ourselves on being a flexible employer; working hours and base pay are negotiable.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the autonomous provision of psychotherapeutic intervention for clients under the care of P-TLC.

Carries a personal caseload and provides specialist psychological services to clients and to other agencies and professions. Supervises and supports the clinical work of other professions as required.

Provides a specialist psychological service (assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention) for adults under the care of the P-TLC.

Undertakes audit and research activities if necessary, takes part in CPD and training, and adheres to professional and Trust guidelines.
