We are looking to recruit an experienced, highly motivated, and enthusiastic pharmacist who will contribute to improving the training and experience of pharmacists and trainees at Newham University Hospital. They will be expected to lead by example and work closely with clinical pharmacy teams to provide expertise in education and training.

The successful candidate will join a supportive, integrated pharmacy team, committed to delivering high quality patient care. They will have access to further educational opportunities and senior clinicians within Pharmacy and other disciplines who can provide mentorship and aid professional development.

Main duties of the job

Roles and responsibilities include (but not limited to):

To manage and support educational development of staff undertaking the post graduate Diploma at Barts Health NHS Trust

Ensure that the experience and training meets the requirements of the training provider and of Barts Health Pharmacy Department

Work closely with the Education, Training & Development Lead Pharmacist and the other education, training & development pharmacists.

To work with the clinical leads in implementing the Foundation Pharmacist Framework for diploma practitioners, ensuring objectives are appropriately set and that regular appraisals are carried out.

To be an educational supervisor and practice supervisor for a diploma practitioner and/or designated supervisor for a trainee pharmacist as necessary.

To jointly lead and manage with the other education, training and development pharmacists on the recruitment process and induction of Foundation trainee pharmacists

To work with the Education, Training and Development Lead Pharmacy Technician to contribute to the development of the pharmacy workforce

To provide a specialist clinical pharmacy service to patients in specified wards and clinical areas in line with clinical pharmacy standards and objectives
