Main duties of the job

Your Role: Senior Nurse

Step into a fast-paced, varied role where you'll make a real impact every single day.

What you'll do:

  • Provide Leadership - oversee a designated clinical pathway (planned care, unplanned care, inpatient care, early days in custody.) Ensuring high quality care is being delivered. Reporting in to the relevant team manager you will provide assurance through audits and attainment of Health & Justice Indicators of Performance.
  • Provide Clinical Care - you will support the registered nurses and healthcare support workers to deliver care, taking on complex cases and leading by example through direct clinical care.
  • Shift Coordination- once a week you will be assigned as the shift coordinator, overseeing all the pathways as the first point of escalation. Planning service delivery and responding to emerging pressures and challenges, maintaining a solution focussed approach to ensure our patients receive the best care whilst supporting the staff.
  • Support Staff Development - you will provide clinical supervision to assigned staff to assist their professional development and support the wider leadership team by feeding back good practice and areas for development raised in supervision.
  • Collaborate across teams- work closely with prison colleagues and partnership agencies, attend key meetings, and contribute to integrated care delivery
