Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Senior Finance Business Partner (SFBP) to join our Financial Management team in Group Clinical Support Services working with the evolving Birmingham Solihull Pathology Network programme.

As an SFBP, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial affordability and sustainability of the Network including input into business cases. In this senior position, you will provide business focused analysis and advice across various pathology disciplines, working in close collaboration with clinical and operational leadership teams. You will use your financial expertise and insightful analysis to support and develop strategic financial models which help ensure the best possible use of resources across our services in the future.

The successful candidate will also be a key member of the Trust's Finance Department, contributing actively to the delivery of its overall objectives and supporting the continual improvement of financial performance across the organisation.

You will bring exceptional organisational and communication skills, with the confidence to prioritise a busy workload and work flexibly to meet tight and competing deadlines.

This is a 12 month fixed term/secondment post.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Finance Business Partner (SFBP) will act as the lead financial specialist to the Pathology Network, supporting the Head of Finance in providing business focused advice and management accounting expertise to the wider Business Unit. You should have expert understanding of management accounting processes and best practice including trend analysis, forecasting and modelling. A key focus of the SFBP role is to develop Network financial plans across a number of models requiring bottom-up cost modelling, understanding of investment appraisal and development of benefits realisation plans.

You will support the Head of Finance in leading the Financial Management team and have a real opportunity to make a difference and deliver value to clinical services and ultimately the patient.

Candidates must be CCAB qualified accountants and have substantial relevant experience working in a financial management environment. Exposure to finance within the NHS would also be advantageous.
