Are You an Experienced Nurse Ready to Step Up?

Seeking a Dynamic deputy team lead to work with us here at the Renal Unit RCHT. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Unit Manger and deputy team by overseeing day to day operations of the Renal Unit, leading and mentoring the nursing team and ensuring high standards of patient care are delivered in a complex and demanding environment. This role involves clinical responsibility, team management, contributing to professional development, and deputising for the senior leadership when necessary.

Main duties of the job

To work as an experienced, skilled member of the team, providing a high standard of holistic patient centred care to patients and families.

Ability to promote patient centred care and establish good relationships with patients and carers.

To communicate effectively at all levels with the multidisciplinary team. To be able to take charge on a shift-by-shift basis

To manage a team of both registered and unregistered nursing staff.

To be able to act as the lead nurse in an emergency.

To Identify and develop extended roles.

To be able to manage the patient flow within the department.

Demonstrate a "can do attitude" consistent with RCHT values.

DESIRABLE SPECIALIST AREA REQUIREMENT

Previous management experience

Clinical competence and excellence in caring for patients undergoing haemodialysis

Knowledge & competence in caring for acutely unwell patients on dialysis

Knowledge & competence in caring for patients on long term dialysis

Knowledge & competence in caring for haemodialysis vascular and line access

Knowledge and competence to discuss renal treatment options with patients and families; providing relevant support, education, and advice so that patients can make an informed choice.

Knowledge and competence to develop and support junior staff and nurses.
